Greater flexibility in the championship fight.

Each Sprint Challenge event will feature two races, creating a 16-race championship.

For the first time, the final standings will be calculated using each competitor’s best 14 results. The revised format allows full-season entrants to drop their two lowest-scoring races, giving drivers greater flexibility while remaining in contention for a championship.

“The expanded 2027 calendar gives teams more opportunities to race while providing the flexibility needed to compete for a championship,” Volker Holzmeyer, President & CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, said.

“Two of these events also line up with other events in the Porsche Motorsport pyramid, a benefit to teams who compete in multiple championships. The new point structure allows Sprint Challenge drivers the flexibility to balance their racing endeavors and still run for a championship.”

Per-event entry fees will remain unchanged for a third consecutive season. Full-season competitors entries who are signed up by December 18th will receive preferred entry pricing, one complimentary drum of fuel at each event, annual hospitality and crew credentials and an exclusive driver gift.

The championship will continue under USAC sanction and officiating, with an optional test day available on the opening day of each event.
