Initiative Continues to Support and Elevate Female Talent in Motorsport

The Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program North America returns for the 2025 season with an enhanced commitment to supporting female racers. Now offering increased financial assistance, tailored driver development, and performance-based incentives, the program continues to empower women competing in both the Porsche Carrera Cup North America and the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama.

The Mobil 1 team and Porsche—two legendary names with deep roots in global motorsport—have once again united to advance their shared mission of promoting diversity and inclusion in racing. Through this initiative, the program provides promising female drivers with the tools, resources, and exposure needed to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

As part of the 2025 program, drivers Sabré Cook, Madeline Stewart, and Ashley Freiberg are each contesting the full Porsche Carrera Cup North America season. The journey continues this week with Round Two, held in conjunction with the prestigious Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.

Cook and Stewart are back in the championship after strong campaigns last year, while Freiberg joins the series as a rookie following her championship-winning ascent through Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama.

In the 2025 Sprint Challenge season, four additional female drivers—Therese Lahlouh, Loni Unser, Erika Hoffmann, and Anna Cecchi—have successfully competed in events spanning coast-to-coast, including rounds at Sebring International Raceway and Sonoma Raceway. Each of these talented competitors has proudly secured podium finishes in their respective classes, further highlighting the growing presence and success of women in motorsport.

“Our support of the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program reflects the Mobil 1 brand’s dedication to driving progress both on and off the track,” said Jennifer Durgin, North America Lubricants Marketing Director, on behalf of the Mobil 1 team. “We’re proud to help create more opportunities for women in motorsport and to empower the next generation of female drivers with the resources, visibility, and support they need to succeed. Inclusivity is essential to the future of racing, and this program is a key part of that vision.”

Launched in 2023, the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program is designed to support and elevate female talent in motorsport. The initiative offers 50 percent coverage of entry fees for participating drivers and awards a complimentary set of Yokohama tires to the highest-finishing female competitor at each round — reinforcing its commitment to both performance and accessibility in racing.

“It’s encouraging to see a growing number of women progressing through the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid, and we remain committed to supporting female drivers at every level,” said Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America.

“We’re seeing strong momentum with the return of Sabré and Madeline, Ashley’s continued development, and now three female drivers competing in Carrera Cup.”

“There’s still more work to do, but the program is clearly moving in the right direction.”

In addition to financial relief, the initiative offers professional development through exclusive workshops focused on driver education, career advancement, and industry networking.

“I was very fortunate to work with Porsche Motorsport North America in the very first season I entered Carrera Cup, becoming the first member of the Female Driver program,” shared Cook.  “It’s incredible that they have expanded that support every year to help more and more female drivers, and it’s great to see how many women are now in Porsche single-make championships here in North America.”

Freiberg, the 2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama 991 class champion, emphasized the broader significance of the initiative, stating: “The Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program is incredibly valuable. Having major brands like Mobil 1, Porsche, and Yokohama come together to support female drivers is meaningful on so many levels. I’m deeply passionate about increasing female participation in the series, and programs like this make a real difference.”

The 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America calendar features eight doubleheader weekends, including three marquee events held in support of Formula 1®. Meanwhile, the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama will host 14 races across seven rounds, with dedicated classes for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

“Porsche is a world-renowned brand, so being a part of any program they have is really important,” said Stewart. “I feel fortunate to be a part of it and think it gets stronger every year and continues to develop. The support they give is a big contribution to what gets me on the grid, so I’m very grateful.”

The second round of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America takes place this week at the Miami International Autodrome, home of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The event will feature two races and marks the first of three high-profile Formula 1 weekends on which the championship will compete this season.

Therese Lahlouh (GT3 Cup class), along with Loni Unser, Erika Hoffmann, and Anna Cecchi (all competing in the Cayman class), are set to return to Circuit of The Americas for the next round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama, taking place May 16–18.

Porsche Motorsport North America will continue to pave the way for emerging motorsport talent through a comprehensive expansion of the Porsche EBOOST Junior Program in 2025.

The initiative, part of Porsche’s global Motorsport Development Pyramid, offers aspiring drivers professional development opportunities, from grassroots levels to the international stage.

The program supports racers starting in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama and Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama, and continues its support in Porsche Carrera Cup North America – the premier one-make series in North America

Zachary Vanier 1

The 2025 Porsche EBOOST Junior Driver Program members include:

Porsche Carrera Cup North America

  • Paul Bocuse
  • Tyler Maxon
  • Wesley Slimp
  • Yves Baltas
  • Zachary Vanier

Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama

  • Anna Cecchi
  • Cole Kleck

Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama

  • Daniel Hanley
  • Luke French
EBOOST Junior Program Daniel Hanley 3

Bocuse, Baltas, and Vanier return for 2025 after being part of the EBOOST-backed program last year. The 17-year-old Bocuse actually enters his third consecutive season in the program. In his first season in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama in 2003, he won the GT4 Cayman Sprint Challenge and last year finished second in the GT3 Cup Sprint Challenge. This season he made the step up to Porsche Carrera Cup North America, contesting the championship with JDX Racing.

Drivers in the program are offered training in racecraft, chassis setup, tire management, fitness, and media handling. Performance incentives include complimentary entries and tire packages, with standout participants receiving further opportunities in higher-tier Porsche series.

The drivers will again get the opportunity to lean on program mentors. Porsche legend Patrick Long will continue in this role again in 2025.

Long is the most successful American Porsche factory driver in history, with a career spanning over two decades and highlighted by multiple class wins at Le Mans, Daytona, and Sebring.

EBOOST Junior Program Anna Checchi 3

Additionally, the recently retired two-time Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion Richard Westbrook has been added for additional mentor support for 2025. Westbrook was Supercup champion in 2006 and 2007. This championship success launched a massively successful endurance racing career, which secured major wins at the Daytona 24 Hour, Sebring 12 Hour, as well as multiple Le Mans podiums.

Westbrook hung up his helmet after his final race at Petit Le Mans last year aboard the JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche 963.

“I’m really looking forward to working with young drivers this season,” Westbrook said.

“When I started my career, there were a lot of experienced guys who helped me, and now that I’ve retired, I’m keen to return the favor. Helping these young racers is really rewarding. It’s not just about how they drive the car, but it’s every aspect of a race weekend, working with the team, sponsors, the fans – there is a lot to it.

“After my single-seater days, I was basically out of racing until I got the chance to drive the Porsche Cup car. Those championship wins in Supercup paved the way to a rewarding career in endurance racing – I’m hoping some of these get the same opportunity.”

Yves Baltas 2

While the Junior Program members will again head to Porsche Penske Motorsport’s headquarters in July for their annual two-day workshop, the 2025 program has been expanded to include mentoring sessions at multiple rounds of Porsche Carrera Cup North America.

The Carrera Cup members of the program were tutored on the importance of mental preparation by Dr Jacques Dallaire of Performance Prime at the opening round at Sebring. For next week’s second round at the F1 Miami Grand Prix, the social media team from Yokohama will host a session for the participating drivers about content creation and online brand management.

Program features also include:

  • Drivers can use the designation Official Porsche Junior Driver of Porsche Motorsport North America.
  • The junior driver who earns the most points each race weekend wins a set of Yokohama race tires and free entry into the next round of their championship.
  • Access to the annual Porsche Junior Workshop for education on becoming a professional race car driver.
  • Racers from Porsche Carrera Cup North America have the chance to be nominated by Porsche Motorsport North America to attend the Global Porsche Junior Selection program, where young racers from across the globe compete to become the global Porsche Junior.
Tyler Maxson 1

Since its inception in 1997, Porsche’s Junior Program has been instrumental in developing world-class drivers. Notable alumni include current Porsche Penske Motorsport stars Matt Campbell, Mathieu Jaminet, Kevin Estre, and Julien Andlauer, as well as the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD champion, Laurin Heinrich.

“At Porsche, developing young talent isn’t just a program—it’s part of our DNA,” said Porsche Motorsport North America President and CEO, Volker Holzmeyer.

“From the early days of our Junior initiative in the late 1990s, we’ve seen drivers like Timo Bernhard, Jörg Bergmeister, and Patrick Long rise through the ranks to championship success. The Porsche Motorsport North America EBOOST Junior Program continues that legacy here in the U.S., creating a clear, merit-based pathway from grassroots racing to the highest levels of international competition.

“It’s about giving deserving young drivers the tools, mentorship, and competitive platform to succeed—on and off the track.”

“In North America, we have such a huge market, we have so much talent. That’s why we want to show them the pathway to reach the top level with Porsche.

“Our goal is to develop talent here in the US to the stage where they could be considered to be part of Porsche’s global Junior Program, and eventually, get the opportunity to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with our factory teams.”

The next step beyond the Porsche Motorsport North America Junior Program is the Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver program. The 2025 members of the Selected Driver program were announced earlier this week and features three former Junior Program members, Loek Hartog, Riley Dickinson, and Tom Sargent.

Zachary Vanier 2

Porsche Motorsport North America has revealed the 2025 class for its prestigious Selected Driver program, naming Loek Hartog (Netherlands), Riley Dickinson (USA), and Tom Sargent (Australia) as this year’s rising stars.

The Porsche Selected Driver program is a key step in Porsche Motorsport North America’s talent development pyramid, designed to elevate emerging professionals by providing direct manufacturer support, expanded race opportunities, and mentorship across GT and endurance racing platforms.

All three drivers will continue their professional careers in 2025 in SRO and IMSA competition, after each initially made a name for themselves in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.

Whatsapp Image 2025 04 20 At 15.58.50 1

Hartog introduced himself to American fans last year with a dominant championship-winning performance in Carrera Cup aboard the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. He also claimed the inaugural Cayman GT4 championship title in Porsche Endurance Challenge North America with Kellymoss teammate Michael Clark.

Additionally, he was part of the winning driver line-up for the inaugural Porsche 992 Endurance Cup 12-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. He also took a class win in the Indy 8 Hour at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway – the final round of the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge. Yesterday, he took victory for Tempesta Racing in the 24-Hour Series race at Spa Francorchamps.

This year, he is contesting the Pirelli GT4 America championship for the first time, teaming up with Dan Sibille in the No.9 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS CS for ACI Motorsports. Internationally, he is competing in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in 2025 and will make his race debut in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with Antares Au and Klaus Bachler with Manthey Racing’s entry in the LMGT3 class.

Dickinson 5

Dickinson, the Texas-born standout, returns to the program following a breakthrough 2024 season that included victories in the Michelin Pilot Challenge and a successful debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the Porsche 911 GT3 R. Having progressed through the North American Porsche ladder system, Dickinson broke series records en route to his 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship win with Kellymoss.

Last year, he contested the Michelin Pilot Challenge Championship alongside Michael McCarthy with Kellymoss. The duo won both the opening and closing rounds of the championship at Daytona and Road Atlanta. This season, Dickinson will contest the PIrelli GT4 America Championship as teammate to ACI Motorsports team owner, Curt Swearingin. The duo scored a pair of podiums at the opening round of the championship recently at Sonoma Raceway.

Sargent 2

Sargent, originally from Australia, quickly made a name for himself after moving to Porsche Carrera Cup North America in 2022. The Australian finished second in the championship and graduated to GT World Challenge America last year as teammate with GMG Racing’s Kyle Washington – taking victory at VIRginia International Raceway.

This year, Sargent made his IMSA debut with Wright Motorsport at the Daytona 24 Hour–finishing second with Adam Adelson, Elliott Skeer, and Porsche factory driver Ayhancan Güven.

Selected Driver Program 2025 20250327 005

“All three drivers came to our attention through their Carrera Cup performances and have again impressed as they have made the next step up the Porsche development pyramid in SRO and IMSA competition,” said Volker Holzmyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America.

“Our Selected Driver program is designed to support their continued development as they take on more prominent roles within the Porsche GT racing ecosystem. We’re thrilled to support Loek, Riley, and Tom with their 2025 programs and excited to see their careers develop as part of the Porsche family.

The Porsche Motorsport Pyramid North America provides a clear path for drivers, teams, and marketing partners to progress through the ranks of sports car racing. From novice instruction and track days with Porsche road cars through to full participation in professional open competition around the world with purpose-built Porsche racing machines, Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) provides a map, appropriate car, and support throughout the journey.

It is the perfect career pathway to move through the sports car racing echelons. At each step on the Pyramid, Porsche provides the appropriate tools, personnel, and strategies to realistically model the career path for drivers, teams, and partners.

Hartog 2

LOEK HARTOG

“It feels really special to be a part of the Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver Program—especially because this is the season where I need to transition from being a Silver-rated driver to a fully contracted professional,” Hartog said.
“Last season, I made it a goal to become involved in as many diverse programs as possible. I started planning early, setting up my calendar and trying to get my foot in the door for different Porsche opportunities.
“I’m really happy with how things came together—especially considering my results in Carrera Cup last season and in GT3 races, particularly the eight-hour race at Indy, which was a personal highlight. That performance helped me earn roles as a Silver driver in multiple programs.
“Carrying a title into this season certainly helps, and driving as many Porsche products as possible in one season is a big advantage. I’m excited to continue competing in the U.S. market in the GT4 America series.
“Driving the 911 GT3 R is still a big ambition of mine, and I’m becoming increasingly familiar with it here in the States.
“Looking ahead, IMSA remains a goal, and I’m proud to now represent the U.S. on the global stage—especially with the opportunity to race at Le Mans for the first time this year.”

Dickinson 4

RILEY DICKINSON

“I’m very much looking forward to continuing in the Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver program,” Dickinson said.
“Obviously, this has been an instrumental piece in the Porsche driver development pyramid that we have here in North America. Continuing with the program is fantastic, and I can’t thank everyone at Porsche Motorsport North America enough for believing in me and continuing their support and partnership throughout the year, building on the successes we had last year.
“Last year was a great first year for me in the program, with highlights including wins at Daytona and Road Atlanta in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. I also had my debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Riley Motorsports and Kelly-Moss in the GT3 R program.
“I’m looking forward to building on that this year with our SRO program and some other championships I’ll be racing in as well.
“We started off our season quite strong with a couple of podiums in GT4 America—a third and a second—at Sonoma for the season opener, and I couldn’t have been happier with that.
“We left that weekend tied for the championship points lead and are now heading into my home race at COTA, the three-hour endurance race for GT4 America.”
“I can’t thank everyone at Porsche Motorsport North America enough for their support and belief in me. It’s definitely an honor to continue in this program and be a small part of Porsche’s history in North America. It’s been a mainstay in the North American market for a while, and continuing that legacy is a very proud moment for me.”

Sargent 1

TOM SARGENT

“To be a part of the Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver program is a dream come true—to be able to wear the Porsche brand and represent it at a level where you’re part of the family,” Sargent said.
“It’s on the way to where I want to be, and it’s a massive achievement. I’m excited to have this opportunity and to represent it well.
“I’m fortunate to have multiple programs this year, including an SRO campaign in GT World Challenge with Kyle Washington, which is great.
“We did that last year, so we’ve got a good foundation to build on going into this year.
“Adding the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to the schedule with the Endurance Championship with Wright Motorsports is a massive step forward for me as well.
“That’s been my ultimate goal—to compete in the IMSA Championship. Getting that chance this year with such a well-established team is exciting. It means I’m getting a lot of miles in the current Porsche 992 GT3 R car, which is fantastic.
“I’m now coming into my third year in the U.S. If I think back to when I arrived three years ago, I never would’ve thought I’d be in this position—at least not this quickly. I hoped I’d get here eventually, but it happened fast, and I owe a big thanks to the people who made it happen.
“A big thank you to Kyle and Adam Adelson for supporting me in joining these programs.
“This is definitely a step in the direction I want to go, toward being a factory Porsche driver. To be one step closer is really big, and I’m excited to represent the brand. Hopefully, I do it well, and I can’t wait for the rest of the year.”

Selected Driver Program 2025 20250327 001

Porsche Endurance Challenge North America by Yokohama reached its halfway point of the 2025 season this past weekend, and the sweeping corners of Sonoma Raceway proved to be a fitting setting.

Drivers have now gone coast-to-coast in the championship fight, having started at Sebring International Raceway in Florida last month. And in similar fashion, Sunday’s 90-minute race saw risky strategy calls, beautiful weather and most importantly, exceptional racing.

Psc Sonoma 4.6.2025 Endurance Challenge Kschwab 17785

Capturing the overall win was the 992 GT3 Cup Am class duo of John Conley and Blake McDonald, the latter of whom joined the Kellymoss squad as a substitute for the weekend. As the starting driver, Conley kept the car clean, but also dabbled in exciting racing of his own with other class competitors.

The pair swapped spots behind the wheel, but ran second behind Charlie Hayes and his teammate, Reinhold Krahn. The Hayes/Krahn duo ran an alternative strategy to other teams, taking their mandatory pit stop nearly 20 minutes after most competitors. Ultimately, the strategy did not pan out and handed Conley and McDonald the win, while winding up third.

Scott Blind, the Am class winner at Sebring, finished second.

The 992 GT3 Cup Pro-Am class featured the most thrilling action, as the professional trio of Andy Lee, Riley Dickinson and Zachary Vanier vied for the win.

Running nose-to-tail, Lee fended off Dickinson for more than 20 minutes and all the way until the hairpin coming to the white flag. Dickinson sent his Porsche inside Lee’s and the two made contact, sending Lee around and Dickinson receiving a penalty.

Lurking behind was JDX Racing’s Zachary Vanier, who drove by Lee’s wayward car and finished within Dickson’s time penalty window. Being in the right place at the right time gave him and co-driver Mike Mim the win.

Psc Sonoma 4.6.2025 Endurance Challenge Kschwab 17765

Also coming down to the wire was the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport class, which went to Kellymoss’ additional entry of Tom Kopczynski and Eric Filgueiras. Longtime Porsche Sprint Challenge driver Kopczynski started the race with Filgueiras closing, and the latter made the winning move with less than 15 minutes remaining.

The move came on Brandon Chappell, who partnered with Charles Espenlaub, and the pair tally the runner-up finish to their victory from Sebring.

Third place was decided even closer to the finish, as professional driver Matt Bell used his expertise to navigate past series newcomer Anna Cecchi with four minutes left in the contest. Bell co-drove with Greg Herback.

Rounding out the list of victors was the family pairing of Reginald and Emanual Tartaglione for ProSport Competition. The Tartagliones had to run clean, green-to-checkered to capture the win and were successful in doing so over second-place Bill Fenech and Chris Hall.

After a calm opening weekend at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama was anything but for its second round at Sonoma Raceway.

As part of the lone Porsche Endurance Challenge North America weekend on the West Coast, several drivers joined the series as a one-off for additional track time – and therefore, brought the heat to Sprint Challenge USA West and its field largely filled with racing newcomers.

West Coast drivers duel with Porsche champions for 992 GT3 Cup wins

It was a battle between West Coast Porsche drivers looking to defend their home turf versus Porsche single-make champions in the 992 GT3 Cup categories – with the results split down the middle.

Competition Motorsports driver and Arizonan Luke French fought for the 992 GT3 Cup Pro-Am win against five-time, Porsche single-make champion Alan Metni. After sweeping Spring Mountain, French fended off Metni’s efforts in Race 1 while the Texan finished second ahead of Brannan Hankins.

Intensity sparked in the final minutes of Race 2 when lapped traffic allowed Metni to cut into French’s lead. In thrilling fashion, the pair drove side-by-side, changing lanes through Sonoma’s sweeping turns, and Metni emerged on top coming to the checkered flag. But in a final attempt, French threw his Porsche inside Metni’s in the famous Turn 11 hairpin, and spun his competitor.

French was handed a penalty that elevated Metni and Kellymoss to the win, Daniel Hanley to second, and Brannan Hankins to his second third-place finish of the weekend.

In 992 GT3 Cup Masters, Sprint Challenge North America and Endurance Challenge North America winner Scott Blind was versus the field. Driving with his Ruckus Racing team, Blind passed Jim Walsh early for the class lead and eventual win in Race 1, but tangled with another competitor early in Race 2 that led to a penalty.

As a result, Kyle Washington was victorious with GMG Racing after finishing third the day prior. Jim Walsh earned his second runner-up finish of the weekend and Blind rebounded to pass for third just in the final corners.

718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport competitors face adversity in Sonoma

It was a challenging weekend, but one to learn from, for competitors in the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport categories.

In Pro-Am, Emanuel Tartaglione with ProSport Competition was awarded the double victory ahead of running in the Endurance Challenge race on Sunday afternoon.

However, Tartaglione stood on the podium alone as his next competitor, Jack Parriott, walked away from a hard crash in Race 1 that prevented him from running in Race 2.

In the Am class, the trio of Tim Smith, Tom Rogers and Greg Herback traded podium positions throughout the two races. Rogers was poised for the first win of the weekend, but received a penalty before the race’s end. As a result, the focus shifted to Smith and Herback, who finished in that order by just .328 seconds.

In Race 2, Rogers and Tatum Racing reclaimed their position at the top and refused to let go. Instead, Smith and Herback continued their battle from the day prior and both even ran off-track individually in their efforts. Ultimately, the pair finished in the same order as Race 1, but this time behind Rogers.

The Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama championship made its lone trip to the West this weekend, running at the beloved Sonoma Raceway in Northern California.

The annual schedule shakeup meant drivers in the series – which typically runs in East and Central time zone tracks – had a near-level playing field with little experience to lean on. As a result, eight races for four classes had a variety of winners and some of the most exciting racing yet in 2025.

No repeat winners in Sprint Challenge North America 992 GT3 Cup

Four winners were crowned in four class battles for Sprint Challenge North America’s 992 GT3 Cup categories.

In the Pro-Am class, young driver Cole Kleck fell prey to his lack of experience by starting on pole for Race 1, but quickly receiving a penalty for changing lanes prior to the green flag.

The focus then shifted to Alan Metni and Blake McDonald. As Metni battled with another class leader for the overall win, McDonald closed in during the final minutes. Despite the late surge, Metni held on for his first win of the year over his Kellymoss teammate by .315 seconds.

Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program member Therese Lahlouh made a stunning charge through the field from ninth on the grid to finish third.

In Race 2, however, Kleck proved he learned from his earlier mistakes and led flag-to-flag en route to the win – his third of the season with Topp Racing. McDonald captured a second runner-up position, while Metni finished on the podium again in third.

In the Masters class, California native Kayden Kelly did use his local experience to win the first race of the weekend, despite testing the limits with fellow class leader Metni towards the end of the race.

Scott Blind and Reinhold Krahn finished second and third, respectively, and both drivers would advance a position by the end of Race 2. Kelly was poised for a weekend sweep in the class, but a late-race drive-through elevated Blind to his second win of the year with Ruckus Racing, and Krahn to second place. Kelly rebounded for third.

Dyselski and Cecchi Earn First Victories, Scalzo also victorious in Cayman class

The only driver to sweep-in-class at Sonoma was Danny Dyselski with VPX Motorsport, and his 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Pro-Am wins could be credited to a particular reason.

Dyselski – a newcomer to sports car racing after an upbringing in open wheel competition – competed in the same model and at the same racetrack in GT4 America the week prior, and took his learnings all the way to victory lane this time around in Sprint Challenge.

Jens Hanston was the next closest competitor, but was no match for Dyselski’s strength. After sweeping the opening event at Sebring International Raceway, Hanston earned double runner-up finishes at Sonoma.

Splitting third-place finishes was a duo of racers from the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program – Erika Hoffman in Race 1 for the first time in her career, and Anna Checchi in Race 2.

Anna wasn’t the only member of her family in the limelight with CHR at Sonoma – her father, Greg, scored his first professional racing victory in the Cayman Masters class in Race 1. Lady Luck was on the elder Checchi’s side as the leading car of Alain Scalzo spun with less than 10 minutes remaining to promote his competitor to the win and Daniel Ammann to second.

Running under his own team banner, Scalzo rebounded to not only finish third in Race 1, but back on the top step in Race 2 for his third win of the year. Greg Cecchi with CHR followed in second, with Bill Fenech in third.

After running separate opening round events at Sebring International Raceway and Spring Mountain for Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama and Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West – both series are set to feature on the same weekend for the first time this year at Sonoma Raceway this weekend.

Between the two series, a total of 63 Porsche race cars are entered – both the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS versions.

It won’t be just the individual championship battles on the line at Sonoma; the weekend also will feature the second round of the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America.

All the Sonoma race action from both championships will be streamed live on the Porsche Motorsport North America YouTube channel.

Sonoma Sprint Challenge 3

PORSCHE SPRINT CHALLENGE NORTH AMERICA BY YOKOHAMA

The opening round of Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama was held at Sebring International Raceway last month with teenage newcomer Cole Kleck making an immediate impact by sweeping both Pro-Am races in the GT3 Cup category with Topp Racing.

The rookie finished ahead of fellow Texas driver and 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup Pro-Am champion, Alan Metni in both instances. Robert Tutino – who was a two-time polesitter at the historic circuit in 2023 – finished third twice with his Canadian outfit, VPX Motorsports.

In the 992 GT3 Cup Masters class, David Williams controlled the first race of the weekend to win with TPC Racing, in addition to finishing third on the overall podium.

The battle for the remaining Masters podium positions, though, was a duel between Daryn Dean and Scott Blind. While the latter held the runner-up spot at the start, he gave way to Dean with 20 minutes to go in the contest.

However, it was a reversal in Race 2 on Saturday, as Blind – the 2024 Sprint Challenge 992 GT3 Cup Masters champion – captured his first victory of 2025.

In the Cayman battle, Jens Hanston added his name to a long list of drivers who successfully continue to climb the Porsche Motorsport ladder.

In 2023, Hanston emerged atop the PCA Club Racing GTD2 podium charts. Two years later to open the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America season, he finished atop both races for the Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport class.

Hanston held off fierce pressure from Kellymoss racer Loni Unser in both races. Unser wasn’t the only female on the grid who had an impressive opening weekend, as Anna Cecchi scored a double podium with a third female racer, Erika Hoffmann finishing fourth in both events in Pro-am.

In the Cayman Masters class, Alain Scalzo – who finished second in the 2024 Cayman Masters championship – had a dominant performance in both races.

Sonoma Sprint Challenge 2

PORSCHE ENDURANCE CHALLENGE NORTH AMERICA

Blind backed up his race two Sebring win with a solo run to victory in the opening round of Porsche Endurance Challenge North America.

The Ruckus Racing driver sealed his win with 10 minutes remaining in the two-hour enduro. Blind made his winning pass on fellow Sprint Challenge Masters driver Daryn Dean, driving inside of Turn 17 and setting sail to win by more than four seconds.

Dean, meanwhile, co-drove to his own Pro-Am class victory alongside Alec Udell and the Kellymoss team while still finishing second overall.

The duo of Charlie Hayes and Reinhold Krahn finished second in the Am class behind Blind, while Frank Vitiello and Daniel Bloom paired up to finish third.

Rounding out the Pro-Am class was Mike Mim and Zachary Vanier in second, with Dan Ammann and Owen Trinkler in third.

In the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport categories, Charles Espenlaub and Brandon Chappell with HM Road Racing finished first amongst the Pro-Am pairings after starting the race first-in-class.

Sonoma Sprint Challenge 1

PORSCHE SPRINT CHALLENGE USA WEST

Two weeks ago, another young star shone bright to take both race wins in the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West opening round at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.

After finishing on the podium multiple times but eluding victory in 2024, Luke French conquered the top step for the first time in both rounds, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for Competition Motorsports. French was untouchable at Spring Mountain, starting from pole, and leading every lap en route to the win.

Behind French, however, was an avid battle between drivers Daniel Hanley and Brannan Hankins, with Competition Motorsports and Loftus Motorsports, respectively.

Hanley bested Hankins by an even three-tenths of a second in Race 1 for runner-up, while Hankins flipped the deck on Sunday to secure second by nearly 11 seconds.

In the 992 GT3 Cup Masters category, Premier Racing’s Douglas Brandt led home his teammate Michael Lando in both races.

While the weekend sweep by Henry Marshall will go down in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport victory books, it was not easy to achieve. However, a home-track advantage certainly helped, as his HM Road Racing team – based out of Spring Mountain – started both rounds first and finished first.

Following behind were a handful of pursuits. Tim Smith – a data team specialist-turned-driver for BR Racing – finished runner-up within two seconds of Race 1 behind Marshall and in third place after Race 2.

Meanwhile, Greg Herback – Smith’s teammate at BR Racing – fought for his inaugural podium of the season after finishing fourth in Race 1 and climbing past his competitors in Race 2 for the runner-up spot.

This weekend at Sonoma, a total of six sprint races will be contested across the two championships with the weekend finishing with a 90-minute battle at the second round of Porsche Endurance Challenge North America on Sunday.

In the second year of Porsche Endurance Challenge North America by Yokohama competition, Scott Blind opened the season with a victory at Sebring International Raceway – and did so individually in the Am class.

Blind’s victory was his first in Endurance Challenge after finishing as high as fourth in 2024, and it came on the heels of a Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Masters class victory on Saturday at the central Florida racetrack.

Finishing first overall and running the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup car, the Ruckus Racing driver sealed his win with 10 minutes remaining in the two-hour enduro. Blind made his winning pass on fellow Sprint Challenge Masters driver Daryn Dean, driving inside of Turn 17 and setting sail to win by more than four seconds.

The duo of Charlie Hayes and Reinhold Krahn finished second in the Am class behind Blind, while Frank Vitiello and Daniel Bloom paired up to finish third. Both teams were elevated to their finishing positions after Alan Metni, running second-in-class, pulled off with an issue on the Ulmann Straight with three minutes remaining.

Tom Kopczynski – who had his own podium in Sprint Challenge Cayman Masters on Friday – and Eric Filgueiras followed suit in second place, with the father-daughter duo of Greg and Anna Cecchi in third. The younger Cecchi, who introduced her father to the sport, finished third in both Sprint Challenge Cayman Pro-Am rounds earlier in the weekend.

Bill Fenech and Chris Hall landed atop the Cayman Am class, while the Tartaglione pairing of Reginald and Emanuel finished second. Griff Asplundh in a solo outing led for multiple laps of the race, but finished in third.
