The Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama season will kick off at Sebring International Raceway this weekend, hosting the first of eight double-header weekends for PSCNA, with nearly 50 cars in attendance across five classes and two sets of races.
One set will feature Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car models – 19 entries with Type-992 GT3 Cups and 13 entries with 991 GT3 Cups – while the other will feature 16 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars.
Coming off back-to-back events with the FIA World Endurance Championship 1000 Miles of Sebring and the IMSA-sanctioned Twelve Hours of Sebring just last week, the 3.7-mile racetrack has held a PSCNA event each year since the series’ inception in 2021.
The driver and eventual class champion who swept both Cayman GT4 Clubsport races at Sebring last season, Aiden Kenny, returns to defend his victories, albeit now in the top-tier 992 GT3 Cup Pro/Am class with ACI Motorsports.
One of the drivers joining Kenny in the Pro/Am field will be Madeline Stewart, who was newly named with Porsche Carrera Cup North America champion team JDX Racing. Stewart, who hails from Queensland, New Zealand, finished a two-year stint in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia series racing 991 GT3 Cup cars before making her switch to the U.S. and now the 992 GT3 Cup. Stewart had the opportunity to test with JDX at Barber Motorsport Park in Alabama before getting a glimpse of the Sebring bumps earlier this month.
Scott Zdanis is another returning driver with prior winning experience in the North American championship at Sebring. Zdanis took the first checkered flag of the 991 GT3 Cup season in 2022 en route to finishing third overall in the championship standings and will be back on the grid with his team, MGM.
Many of the nearly 20 teams this weekend at Sebring plan to field multiple entries, as Fall-Line Motorsports tops the list with nine; MDK Motorsports with five; the trio of JDX, Kelly Moss Road and Race, and RS1 with four; and others rounding out with two to three cars.
One such team is Tatum Racing with three cars and its stable of drivers bringing a range of experience. John McInnes – with assistance from his driver development coach Parker Thompson – will pull double duty this season between the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and USA West series in the 991 GT3 Cup class.
Meanwhile, McInnes’ teammate, Nickolas Maloy, makes his series debut this weekend driving in the Cayman GT4 Clubsport Pro/Am category. Maloy, just 17 years old, seeks a coveted spot with the Porsche Motorsport Junior Driver Program based on his performance throughout the season.
In total, six drivers will compete for the 992 GT3 Cup Pro/Am wins this weekend, and 13 drivers each for the 992 GT3 Cup Am and 991 GT3 Cup wins. Nine drivers will run for the first pair of Cayman GT4 Clubsport Pro/Am wins and seven entries are set for the Am class.
All four 40-minute races this weekend listed below will stream live on FloSports, in addition to the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama YouTube channel.

Speedway, IN | Madeline Stewart is set to race in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama as part of a two-year program with JDX Racing that will see her make the step into Carrera Cup North America in 2024.
Coming off the back of two seasons in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia,
Madeline will be making the transition into racing in the United States with reigning Porsche
Carrera Cup North America champions JDX Racing. The Queensland based Kiwi will spend her year traveling between Australia and the USA to fulfill her racing commitments and is looking forward to the challenge of racing in a new championship.
“I’m really excited for this new opportunity, racing in America. JDX have such a great
pedigree and had such a strong 2022 Carrera Cup Campaign. I’m really looking forward to
working with them and I’m confident that I’ll learn a lot. It’s also great to have Byers Porsche
on board for 2023 and I’m excited to build a relationship with them. This will be my first time racing a Porsche 992 Cup Car and to have the chance to race at such iconic circuits such as Sebring, Circuit of the Americas and the Indy Road Course is a dream come true. We’ve had a successful first test at Barber Motorsport Park so I’m excited to see what we can do this year.”
The series in America is run to closely simulate GT3 racing with rolling starts, ABS and
traction control. It provides a logical next step in the Porsche Pyramid and helps open many
opportunities for the future.
This week, Madeline completed her first test with JDX Racing at Barber International
Raceway in Alabama. She will spend the next week in Colorado with team before heading to
Florida for a two-day test at Sebring. JDX Racing co-owner, Jeremy Dale, was impressed by
Madeline’s first test.
“We are very excited about our program with Madeline. She is very focused and serious
about her goals in motorsport, and we intend to give her all the tools she needs to achieve
those goals. Sprint Challenge is quickly becoming a proving ground for young drivers on their way to Carrera Cup, and we think this program is ideal preparation for our planned 2024 campaign in the ultra-competitive Carrera Cup North America championship. We have just completed our first test at Barber, and Madeline did an exceptional job in her first outing in the 992 Cup Car. I want to thank Madeline and her sponsors for having the confidence in JDX Racing to guide her on her journey. We’re all in!” Madeline’s first race will be at Sebring, Florida, 24-26 March.

Their son, Shawn Tatum, is Team Principal and Crew Chief. The crew for 2023 will consist of Technicians Will Higgins, Sheldon Marra, Chad Deppe and Dougy Trupski. During the 2022 season the Tatum Team and Racing Community lost a fellow crew member. During this time of loss, the Porsche Sprint Challenge and Racing Communities came together as a whole with overwhelming support.
After their 2022 Inaugural year in Porsche Sprint Challenge; Tatum Racing based at Utah Motorsports Campus is excited to be campaigning another two car team in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North American Series and the Porsche Sprint Challenge West Series for 2023.
2022 brought lots of excitement, dedication and hard work as Tatum Racing campaigned two 991.2 Porsche Cup Cars in the Porsche Sprint Challenge West Series, with limited time to prepare for the season. The team came together to prepare for the season with phenomenal attitude to get the job done. With John McInnes in the # 56 and Chris Haunold in the #00 both had fantastic results throughout the entire season.
2023 will again find John McInnes returning in his 991.2 Cup Car #156; to both the Porsche Sprint Challenge North American and Porsche Sprint Challenge West Series. With 2 overall wins at his home track at Utah Motorsports Campus and two more class wins at the historical Indianapolis Motor Speedway, John is excited as ever to see what 2023 will hold.

Speedway, IN | Continuing to forge ahead with a diversity program, the inclusion of Women in Motorsports, Black Sheep Racing has added Devin Alexandria Hofmann to the squad as she will be the Car Chief for Championship-Winning driver Laura Ely in 2023. Starting her passion for cars and motorsports at young age, Devin was destined to have a career in the automotive industry and the fast-paced life of motorsports.
“I am excited to have Devin as part of the BSR family in 2023, and this is just another example of our ‘Women in Motorsports’ efforts,” explained Laura Ely. “With such a passion for motorsports in general, her intense school program, and growing resume, Devin is a perfect example of what motorsports needs for women both now and in the future.”
Starting her love for cars when she was young, hearing the lop of the muscle cars and turbo spools of the tuner cars, she instantly wanted to know everything about them and how to make them faster. Devin went to school learning to use CAD/CAM and designed car parts for local race shops as a hobby after graduating from Augusta Technical College with a Mechanical Engineering Technology Associate’s Degree.
“I just love cars,” explained Hofmann. “The thrill of racing and making something that is already fast, faster, is a huge passion and I cannot wait to get started with Black Sheep Racing. A huge thanks to Laura and everyone in the program, and I hope that I can help make the team back-to-back champions.”
The hobby of making car parts led her to build and racing her own car, a 2015 Subaru STi, in grassroots ‘Time Attack’ where she worked with her sponsors to test and develop performance parts on track with her own car. During this time, Devin got picked up by BMW Manufacturing doing lean manufacturing engineering as well as testing and analysis for new products. This change motivated Devin to go back to school and get her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Devin’s love for the physics and data analysis of race cars led her to volunteer for teams ranging from NASA Spec Miata, WRL, GTO, to Super Trofeo to Trans-Am TA2. Devin has been working for teams doing pit crew work, data, and mechanic jobs in between her day job at GE Gas Turbine as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer and her own grassroots racing program.
Ely added, “Devin’s drive to learn and grow in this sport makes us happy to have her as one of the newest members on our team for the 2023 season.”
Speedway, IN | Porsche Sprint Challenge North America is poised for one of its most successful
seasons yet as the program approaches its first event of 2023.
The Porsche one-make series returns with its duo of championships – Porsche Sprint Challenge North
America by Yokohama (PSCNA) in its third season of competition and Porsche Sprint Challenge USA
West by Yokohama (PSCUW) in its second season for teams preferring a West Coast race schedule.
While the series maintains much of its structure going into 2023, it also introduces a handful of new
elements to both championships.
Most notably, PSCNA and PSCUW will upgrade from three classes to five this season – 992 GT3 Cup
Pro/AM, 992 GT3 Cup Am, 991 GT3 Cup, Cayman GT4 Clubsport Pro/Am and Cayman GT4 Clubsport
Am.
For both championships, 992 GT3 Cup entries will compete in respective Porsche models from 2021 –
2023, with drivers aged 16 to 49 racing in the Pro/Am class and drivers 50 and older in the Am class. The
same structure applies to Cayman GT4 Clubsport entries with respective Porsche models from 2019 –
2021, albeit with the Pro/Am minimum age requirement set at 15. The 991 GT3 Cup class is reserved for
all competitors driving Porsche 991 GT3 Cup race cars of the 991.2 generation (model years from 2017 –
2020).
The new-for-2023 championship structure highlights one of the most appealing aspects of this Porsche
Motorsport Pyramid series, with drivers having the ability to advance amongst models and classes as
their development continues. Two champions from 2022 – Aiden Kenny and Laura Ely – will do just that
in 2023. After winning last year’s North American Cayman GT4 Clubsport title, Kenny will join the 992
GT3 Cup Pro/Am field, while Ely moves to the 992 GT3 Cup Am field after clinching last year’s 991 GT3
Cup title.
Additionally, multiple drivers are ready to invest in season-long commitments for 2023 after an initial
introduction last season. Zachary Vanier contested only two races in 2022, including one win, in the 991
GT3 Cup class and will join the 992 GT3 Cup Pro/Am field full-time this season. Former PSCUW
competitor Kayden Kelly will do the same after a promising series introduction with just four 991 GT3 Cup starts last year. In total, more than 40 season-long entries are confirmed across both championships for the upcoming
season.
The North American championship will kick off its calendar in less than one month’s time at Sebring
International Raceway on March 24 – 26, while Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch – an exclusive
motorsports country club located one hour west of Las Vegas – hosts the first doubleheader weekend for
USA West on the 2.76-mile Charleston Peak racetrack, scheduled for April 21 – 23.
Additionally, both championships will join select events this season featuring some of North America’s
premier motorsports series. INDYCAR – which welcomed its first Porsche Sprint Challenge event in 2022
– increases its alliance with the series for three weekends in 2023, starting with PSCNA at Barber
Motorsports Park and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, followed by PSCUW at WeatherTech Raceway
Laguna Seca. While only PSCNA’s GT3 Cup classes will run at Mid-Ohio during the INDYCAR weekend,
Cayman GT4 Clubsport competitors will get their turn in the spotlight with NASCAR one week later.
After a total of seven event weekends for PSCNA and five for PSCUW, both championships will conclude
their seasons at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 6 – 8 during the SRO-sanctioned and fan-
favorite Indy 8 Hour.
Full calendars for the North American and USA West championships are listed below, and all events will
broadcast live on FloRacing.com and the series’ YouTube channel.
Follow along with Porsche Sprint Challenge action throughout the season at www.porschesprint.com, and
on social media using the hashtags #PorscheSCNA and #PSCNA for the North American championship
and #PorscheSCUW and #PSCUW for USA West.
